I have 2 mens rings, they’re quite heavy and both have 2 marks on them : 18k and 756. I took them to a jewellers and they said they would chrage 30 pounds each to send them off and get them valued but i don’t even know if they’re worth that much!
good news for you, those two marks indicate they contain approximately 75% gold, just so YOU know. 24 kt is pure gold, and as you can now surmise, 12 kt is really only 50%gold. it is ludicrous for you to pay that much for those two "jewelers" to send them off….you could be holding two antiques also, which would also increase their value beyond the mere gold content. simple solution: do research on the stones they might have in regard to how large and what they are first, to get an idea of the gem value. Then, weigh them to see what the mass of the metal portion is…viola !!! go shopping, at reputable jewelers for similar size(mass) rings of the same 18kt standard…that will be a big clue as to what the rings are worth, then , sell them yourself and, consider yourself paid 60 pounds for your work/research/efforts……
